I enable clients and catering contractors to collaborate to deliver profitable visitor catering that exceed customer expectations. Projects include transforming food concepts targeting different customer segments from a tuck shop and shake bar to themed cafes and fine dining in a railway carriage.

Case study

On behalf of the Science Museum Group, John led the tendering of the combined catering contract at the National Railway Museum, York, and National Science and Media Museum, Bradford.

A detailed tender specification was drawn up encompassing visitor catering and venue hire catering with input from key stakeholders. An OJEU tendering process was adopted. John oversaw the selection process and conducted commercial and contractual negotiations.

The successful outcome of the tender enabled the development of unique food concepts that enhanced the visitor experience and provided tiered offers including pizza and ice cream cafes in shipping containers and casual dining on a Victorian railway platform.
